How To Get The Most Out Of A Wedding Fair

The Radiance Show is upon us! We’re sure you know we will be exhibiting and we are SO excited! Wedding fairs can be a bit overwhelming; there are so many vendors with so many services; where do you start? Have no fear, we’ve put together this guide that should help you navigate your way through the glitz and glam and come out on top!

Choose the Right Time

If you want to avoid the crowds and have more intimate conversations with the vendors at the show, you’ll want to visit the show during a less busy time. Bridal shows tend to get crowded close to the fashion show time, so if you are one that wants to really do your research, aim for when the doors open to do the rounds. Don’t forget Radiance is giving FREE swag bags on each day for the first 100 attendants!

Bring the Right People

Lots of brides bring along members of their bridal party, parents, future in-laws, relatives and of course, the groom. Make sure that whoever is joining you has a realistic expectation of what you will be doing and how long you’ll be spending there. Tell everyone to wear the right shoes – choose comfort over fashion!

Create an Email Address for the Engaged Couple

You’ll be filling in a LOT of forms and contest cards! Instead of filling your personal inbox with wedding-specific information, create a new, free email address for your wedding. (TIP : our wedding websites come with free email addresses). Most couples use their wedding hashtag and/or wedding date when creating this email address. You can use this email address when you fill in forms to request quotes or enter drawings, and you can also provide it to your wedding guests if they have any wedding-related questions.

Do your research

Decide on what your aim is in attending the fair. Is it for inspiration or are there vendors you still want to book? Knowing what you want to achieve will help you decide which booths to visit. Many wedding fair organizers will often list the exhibitors at their fairs on their website/instagram. Check the wedding vendors’ websites/pages before attending the show to learn more about their work. This will help you decide who you want to find out more about at the fair.

Know your game plan

Make a list and stick to it. Try to avoid looking at items you have already confirmed and spend your time wisely deciding on the things you still need to book. Although there are often good offers to be found at wedding fairs, don’t feel pressured into placing orders at the show. Many vendors will have specials and discounts on their services if you book on the day or within a few weeks so you can take some time making your decisions.

Take notes

You will probably walk away from the fair with a lot of business cards and brochures, making it difficult to remember which vendor was which. Take notes as you meet people and jot down their ideas, suggestions and prices. Also add a tick for those suppliers you liked or a cross for the ones that do not meet your needs in the corner of their card or brochure so when you get home, you can quickly get to the information you need.

Catch the Fashion Show

Still not sure about your dress? Want some bridesmaid dress inspiration? Make sure you catch the fashion show to get your juices going!

Have fun!

Wedding fairs are a fun part of the wedding planning process, so the best thing you can do is enjoy it! When you get home, spend some time that evening while the vendors are fresh in your mind to go through all the literature you have collected and decide who you would like to contact. Those ticks and crosses should make this quick and easy for you. Don’t delay contacting the suppliers you would like to work with as popular suppliers book up quickly!
